Hindi
Language
Any culture has a deep connection with its mother tongue. Language is the greatest medium to establish a bond between generations. Myself, Reshmi, 16 years back when we relocated from India; my young kids started growing up speaking and learning Dutch and English. I started noticing that not knowing Hindi was restraining them to stay connected with our culture. Simple things like having a real conversation with grandparent became a challenge. Enjoying a good Bollywood movie as a family was becoming a distant dream. Being an educationist myself, this triggered me to develop a course structure which was tailor made and fit for purpose for kids who have inadequate prospects during their day to day schedule to learn Hindi as 3rd or sometime 4th language. This is when I decided to design a Hindi curriculum & start teaching Hindi to all those who are exposed to the Hindi environment around them yet cannot speak or read/write Hindi. In the process I learnt how important it was, to keep language alive as it is way more than just understanding the culture and bridging the gap between generations. Hindi means "of or belonging to Hind (India)" and knowing that language keeps your connection alive with your roots
